The hybrid conference ‘Data Security of Customs Equipment at the Dutch and EU Borders’ took place on Monday 9 October 2023 at 10.00-11.45 hours CET, both at the Nieuwspoort press center in The Hague and online.
Only on 28 September 2023 the Dutch Government responded to series of Parliamentary questions regarding the use of Nuctech scanning equipment and services at the outer borders of the European Union. Please find here an informal and initial analysis of this response, notably through the prisms of EU Customs Control Equipment Instrument disbursements, the requirements and conditions that must be fulfilled in order for EU Member States to receive such disbursements and the current EU de-risking strategy vis-à-vis China.
