About EBAC

In order to assist the economically underdeveloped region of Tasikmalaya in Indonesia, the Edgar Brood Academic Chair Foundation – named after the late Edgar Brood, a Dutchman with a heart for Tasik – funds a full-time professor in English and IT at Siliwangi University in Tasik. This does not only benefit the university students: university personnel and local civil servants and entrepreneurs are also invited to follow courses to improve their knowledge of English and IT.

The position of Academic Chair Professor is currently vacant. Feel free to contact us if you are interested to teach English and IT in Java.

The Academic Chair is funded by members and friends of the Brood family and assisted by the PA International Foundation.

Dr. Mashudi Prize

To stimulate the students to learn proper English, PA International awards the Dr. Mashudi Prize – in commemoration of the deceased founder of Siliwangi University – to the best English student. At the expense of PA International this student can do an internship in PA’s Brussels office for two months and make side trips to London, Paris and The Hague in order to further improve his or her English in an international environment and to get acquainted with the institutions and funding opportunities of the European Union.
